W.A. Mozart – Requiem & Coronation Mass

In February 2020, Olga Zinovieva takes part in the Mozart tour with The Bach Choir & Orchestra of the Netherlands through the Netherlands. She will be singing solo parts in Mozart’s Requiem and the Coronation Mass.

In addition, Olga will be performing the spectacular aria “No, che non sei capace” KV 419. Mozart wrote this aria together with the well-known ‘Vorrei spiegarvi, o Dio’ KV 418 as an insertion to Anfossi’s opera ‘Il curioso indiscretto’. Both arias were created to make a brilliant impretion. And also to show off the singing qualities of Mozart’s sister-in-law Aloysia Weber at her first performance in the Wiener Burgtheater. They both had a great success. Mozart wrote to his father about this: “they liked nothing but my two arias.”

Both compositions have a diapason of more than two octaves. Mozart has no limits in the range continuing where over composers would stop. In ‘Vorrei spiegarvi, o Dio’ the high E occurs once. Olga Zinovieva sung this aria frequently and you may have heard it once during your concert visit. In this new program she sings the bravoure aria ‘No, che non sei capace’ in which the high E passes six times!
