In mid-June 2025, the seventh Festival of Classical Music Elburg will take place. Beautifully located in the Veluwe, surrounded by forests and water, the historic city of Elburg is a perfect setting for such a delightful musical event.

On the first day of the festival, the Walking Concerts will take place. During these concerts, the audience visits three locations in one afternoon: stroll through the charming alleys and then enjoy an intimate concert in the chapel of the former Agnietenklooster. Here, Belgian harpist Vinciane Degroote and South African countertenor Clint van der Linde will perform. The chapel’s remarkable acoustics provide the perfect setting for medieval songs.

In the refectory of the Agnietenklooster, you will be treated to a musical flute celebration. Katja Pitelina and Reiko Tsuiki, together forming the flute duo Kaleidoscope, will perform on various flutes, accompanied on the lute by Osako Ueda, creating a unique musical experience.

After the concerts in the Agnietenklooster, you will wander through the intimate alleys towards the magnificent Grote Kerk of Elburg. Here, soprano Olga Zinovieva will perform Boccherini’s moving Stabat Mater, accompanied by the exceptional musicians of The Bach Ensemble of the Netherlands, conducted by Pieter Jan Leusink.

On Friday, June 13, a festive concert will take place in a stunning location: the Kloostertuin of the former Agnietenklooster. Soprano Olga Zinovieva and countertenor Clint van der Linde will perform Royal arias and duets by Händel and his contemporary Purcell.

The Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands, under the direction of Pieter Jan Leusink, will present Händel’s most famous instrumental composition: Water Music. The London composer wrote this work for a royal boat trip on the Thames in 1717.

The final concert will take place in the Kloostertuin on Saturday, June 14. The musicians of The Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands will perform Vivaldi’s most renowned composition: The Four Seasons, with Spanish violin virtuoso Enrique Gómez-Cabrero Fernández as the soloist.

Olga Zinovieva will sing the arias of Rosane from Vivaldi’s opera La verità in cimento and the deeply moving aria Sposa son disprezzata. This emotionally intense aria forms the heart of the concert. In Sposa son disprezzata, Olga Zinovieva will embody Asteria, a woman whose unrequited love is accompanied by sorrow and despair. The power and intensity of this aria will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

The high walls of the cloister garden create a special atmosphere and provide an exceptional acoustic experience.
